As soon as you have the Employment Pass Eligibility Certificate (EPEC). You can now apply for a Long Term Visit Pass (LTVP), given that you have entered Singapore with a valid Visa and stayed minimum of 10 days.

I wasn't able to activate my EPEC or apply for a LTVP because I was lucky to get a job in 4 days.  My employer applied the Employment Pass for me.  So, I am still holding my EPEC copy until now.

Since my reader, Mark, asked me on how to apply for the LTVP, I have done few research on this and was lucky enough to have the links.

  4. Hi, you need to be here in Singapore to convert EPEC to LTVP. Because one of the requirement is your Disembarkation/Embarkation card, which is issued upon your arrival.

Welcome to my site. You can also browse the post at the "Your Guides In Singapore" at the top right side bar. Cheers!

  5. Hi Ben! I applied for the long term visit pass online a week ago (immediately after I got my EPEC). However, my DE will be expiring in about 2 weeks' time. Should I get approved and receive the In-Principle Approval by e-mail, is it a guarantee that the airport immigration will allow me to come back? I have been coming back and forth Singapore for the past few months already before I decided to apply for the EPEC and LTVP. I'm afraid I would be on ICA's watch list...

  6. How long is the IPA valid, by the way? At least in your case. From the time you received it until its expiry?

  7. Yesterday I got my LTVP (card). It was a fairly simple process. My appointment was for 3pm. I showed up at 2, took a token at 220.Waited my turn till about 345. Handed the following docs

    Original passport
    passport copy
    medical reports (original)
    EPEC (copy)
    Form 14 with photo
    the LTVP approval notice

After verification, the lady bundled all the docs in order and handed them back to me after stapling them, scanned my photo and fingerprints (right n left thumb) and asked me to return in a couple of hours to a certain counter number.
At the allotted time I arrived with the set, another lady verified my passport, and handed me the LTP card. Its valid for exactly one year from the date of issue.

the IPA (approval Notice) is valiid for 2 months from the date of issue. before that time is up, you need to get anppointment with ICA and submit the docs and get the LTP card. its basically a one year long multiple entry visa.

Whether or not you can travel with only an IPA is something ull have to check by calling ICA!

  14. Hi, I submitted/activated my EPEC last Jan 6, 2012. I received the result today but is not successful. What should I do? Please help. Thank you

  15. What you can do is to look for a job while you are here. MOM stopped the EPEC scheme since Dec. 1 2011. Try the different ways on how to find one..try this link.

  16. Can I apply for visitor visa while my LTVP is in process ?

    ReplyDelete
  17. Visitor Visa is given once you arrive in SG. This is applicable for ASEAN countries, but for other countries, i think you need to go to a Singapore embassy at your country and apply first.
