Singapore Tour Suggested Itinerary

One of my reader, you know who you are...thanks, is asking me for an itinerary for a tour around Singapore in 4 days.

What I can suggest is to have this list of places to visit...

Thurs (16)
Singapore Expo (1 MRT Station next to Changi Airport)

*The following places can be toured by foot.
(alight at City Hall MRT station)
Esplanade, Suntec, Marina Square, other malls nearby...
Merlion (at the City)
Marina Bay Sands ,(S$20-Adult, S$14-Children )
Arts Science Museum (S$30-Adult)
Glutton's Bay (Eat dinner)
Clarke Quay (bar hopping)

Friday (17)
Sentosa (S$3.00 Sentosa Express, you can use the EZ-link card)
Universal Studios (Cheaper tickets during weekdays) (S$66 - S$72 per person)
OrchardLucky PlazaIon (Alight at Orchard MRT Station and travel by foot)

Saturday(18) - These places are in one location
Orchid Farm
Night Safari

Jurong Bird Park
Airport (4pm)

Note: You can get the Three in One Package for the Zoo, Bird Park, Night Safari.

What's the Budget?
Oh my! This is difficult to estimate.  It depends on how you choose your food and how often do you take it.  The budget for a meal can be at S$4.50 and above, take note, this is with drinks.  Drinks costs from S$0.9 to S$1.50.  If you can see the Hawker type, this place is much cheaper.  You can bring your own mineral water to save few cents.

This is just my suggestion as I have been to this places.  It also depends on your energy, so for me, this is quite comfortable for people who are at 20's and 30's of age.

Have a nice trip and Welcome to Singapore!

  1. Hi, Ben. Your blog is so helpful to people who will visit singapore for the first time.Just want to congratulate you and thank you for this unselfish act of answering queries about Singapore travel. I am so glad i found your blog coz we are planning to visit singapore this year. (",)

  2. Hi,your comment is also keeping me going to run this blog. I'm so glad that I help someone out of this. When I went here, I knew nothing but a bit of information from my tourists friends, there was no Ben Alagnam that time.

  3. It's just beside Esplanade Theaters along Raffles Avenue and Waterfront.

  4. thanks, Ben. I am planning to stay in Singapore for 1 month (apr-may), am working in mid-east; will meet my 18 yr old son there during holy week. Your blog is very helpful. i hope you can give some tips or insights for backpackers like hostel/transients/trip to malaysia/etc..

  5. hi ben! thanks for the blog. my family is planning on having a Singapore trip on june. also four days, M-TH though. will your suggested itinerary also be comfortable if we're with our kids- a 4-yr old and a 2-yr old?

Also read your blog on Suntec job fair. God bless your job hunting! C=

  6. The places that you can take out is the Clarke Quay and Lucky Plaza. The kids will not enjoy with these places.

There is no problem bringing kids with you as long as you have strollers. This can be easy in MRT and buses, and the best if you ride the taxi. Enjoy and hope we hear about your Singapore tour here. :)

  7. will sure try to post our SG Tour! thanks for the many info..

  8. Hi ben! Saw your blog from pex. Can you recommend a decent and clean hotel good for 1st timers in sg. Me and my friends will visit sg for 3 days only.

  9. It's difficult to judge on how clean is clean. For me, I have visited a friend who stayed in Hotel 81-Star...the place is nice 3x6 mtr room, one toilet, cabinet, queen size bed, 10-min walk to Aljunied MRT and near the shophouses. please call this 67488181 for further inquiry.

  10. Hi ben. very informative blog. [thumbs up]

    pwede patulong itinerary? :)

scenario: I will be having my annual vacation this september (tagal pa, gusto ko lang prepared. hehe)

Aug 31, i'll be leaving dubai and arrived at singapore, changi airport at Sept 1, 11:15 AM and the next flight home to manila is Sept 2, 9:30 AM.

What are the possible things to do in that span of time. I really like to go to Universal and do some City tours, pasalubong souvenirs na hindi naman sobra nagmamadali, at the same time "medyo tipid". hehe. I'm thinking of just sleeping sa airport for the next day flight home.

extend my stay, for at least a day and go to a budget hotel, like Hotel 81 in Geylang? (price difference for the ticket would be at least 5k), a do things in a more friedly pace. hehe. Any suggestions and budget advice. Salamat talaga ng marami. :)

  11. Hi Ben,

I will be visit SG for 2 weeks. but im yet nervous to be there coz im just alone. will i have a friend there waiting for me but still im a lil bit afraid coz it will be my first time to travel abroad. any advice you can give me?

  12. SG is safe to travel even at 2am. Nobody will hurt you here. The important thing is, you have to bring a bus and street directory to guide you. Tell your friend if he has one.

Always bring your passport with you anywhere you go. If you have other questions, you can post it on the Forum Site. The link is

  13. Hi Ben. I was planning to visit a friend in SG i just want a confirmation if i need an Invitation Letter from him.. Is there any Money exchanger in SG for philippine money??

  14. Invitation letter is randomly checked by the Officers. Some of my friends was asked for it and others wasn't. Money exchanger is inside the airport terminal. They will exchange your Peso. You can also find it in Lucky Plaza, Mustaffa. ALWAYS count your money before leaving the counter to be sure.

  15. Hi,Ben.

We are travelling to SG from Nov 25 to Nov 27 with a 6 yrs old child..if di naman pag mamalabis, is it okay for you to draft an itenerary?
Nov 25: 3:40 PM (arrival at Budget Terminal), I already have reservations at Fragrance Ruby Hotel in Geylang (oops..too late to find out that Geylang is SG's red district. But it doesn't matter at all cause we won't be in the hotel naman all the time, tulog lang talaga). We still have no booking for the departure, but come monday or tuesday I will book na the 6;30Pm via cebupac SG to Clark or the Nov 28 1;30Am (cebupac) SG to Mla.

May mga airlines pa kaya na mag offer nang promo (SG to Mla/clark)? how much should I bring (both Php and SGD)? Sorry, it's our first time in SG.
